Manager, Marketing + Administration - Port Hope Heritage Business Improvement Area (HBIA)
Job Description
The Port Hope Heritage Business Improvement Area (HBIA) is seeking a Manager, Marketing + Administration. This role involves building relationships with key stakeholders, leading marketing campaigns to drive downtown traffic, and collaborating with the Municipality and community partners to amplify existing events. The Manager will oversee beautification efforts, manage social media, update the website and newsletters, and handle all budget tracking and administrative duties. Flexibility is required for evening and weekend work as required. The ideal candidate will have a background in project management, marketing, or business administration, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
Details:
Permanent, part time - 25 hours a week.
Compensation
$25-30/hr, based on skills and experience.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with all key stakeholders - HBIA Board, HBIA Members, Municipality of Port Hope, Community Partners
- Act as lead point of contact for all HBIA inquiries and requests - disseminate information and engage appropriate individuals as required
- Collaborate with Municipality and Community partners to amplify and market appropriate events and activities in order to drive visitors into the Heritage district
- Create marketing campaigns that encourage downtown traffic and visits
- Oversee and implement beautification efforts in the downtown as it relates to the HBIA - planters, flags, holiday decor
- Social Media Management - develop monthly content calendars, regular content creation and posting, community engagement and moderation across all HBIA social channels
- Website Maintenance - ensure regular upkeep of all Member information and timely new+events updates
- Newsletter Creation - create and deploy regular newsletters to ensure HBIA Membership are up to date on all activities and programs
- Budget Management - monthly tracking, invoicing, preparation of expenses and cheque requisitions and facilitation of campaign reimbursements when necessary
- Administration - perform all duties including: booking meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, updating files, monitoring and responding to all HBIA emails
- Facilitate sessions with HBIA Board and its committees as required - planning sessions, event brainstorms
- Flexibility - available for evening and weekend work when required for Board Meetings and downtown events
Qualifications
- Successful completion of post secondary education in project management, marketing, business administration or similar program
- Detail oriented
- Self starter
- Highly motivated and able to drive projects forward independently
- Strong interpersonal and public relations skills and the ability to foster relationships with all stakeholders
- Proficient computer skills - Email, Word, Excel, Adobe, Canva (or equivalent)
- Strong Verbal communication skills
- Strong Written communication - accurate, concise, correct grammar/spelling
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities
- Flexible and adaptable
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as required
